FOBC’s major ongoing project is the restoration of the Bullock Creek Hatchery Springs site with NZ native planting. We are supported in our work by the landowners Otago Fish & Game, Corrections NZ and a band of committed Wanaka volunteers.

 

gunnera eradication

In 2025, FOBC moved downstream from the Bullock Creek Hatchery Springs Site to assist Creek Neighbours to eradicate the invasive Chilean Rhubarb plant - Gunnera tinctoria.

FISH ON DRAINS

The FOBC Fish on Drains project was completed in 2024. Many thanks to WAI for the helpful input! WAI will carry on work throughout Wanaka via other actions. Check out WAI’s Our Drains are Streams & Adopt a Drain programmes.

Monitoring water quality which can be affected by storm water disposal from urban developments.
